My Quilting Journey

WELCOME TO NEEDLE & THREADS!

Sewing has been part of my life since childhood, although I placed it on hold while building my career as a registered nurse and raising my two daughters. After retiring, I invested in a new sewing machine and happily returned to my quilting journey.

​

As my collection of unfinished quilt tops grew, I began exploring longarm quilting. In December 2023, I purchased my Handi Quilter Amara with Pro-Stitcher—and quickly fell in love with the creativity and possibilities it opened up.

Quilting has also given me meaningful ways to serve my community. I have helped finish quilts for Quilts of Valor and have participated in the Amador Valley Quilt Guild’s Community Quilts program. I currently serve as the guild’s Membership Chair, where I enjoy welcoming members and supporting our shared love of quilting.
